Status bar label is not updated on a column insertion in the Sanger Reads Editor

Scenario:

1. Open the Sanger Reads Editor.
2. Select any character in the Reads Area, the reference should contain a character in this column.
3. Select "Insert a character/gap" action, insert anything.
   Expected state: a column of gaps is inserted, also a gap is inserted into the reference, the column with this gap is selected.
   Current state: the insertion is correct, but the label with the reference position on the status bar is not updated immediately.
