It is strange that sometimes UGENE will display amino acid translation of DNA sequence while sometimes it doesn't. Later I find that it would only display amino acid translation for DNA sequence longer than about 100nt.
I don't know why developers choose such a threshold, but I think it is acceptable to display amino acid translation of any DNA sequence longer than 6nt. Why choose 6nt? I consider three different translation frames.
Sometimes we just would to see the translation results, regardless of real biological meanings. By the way, there also exist many exon segments which are much shorter than 100nt. So dispalying such amino acid translation is also acceptable.
