The problem with opening assembly files from a directory with non-ASCII symbols in path (see UGENE-5371) still exists for unsorted sam files. Note, if there are no non-ASCII characters in the path, the file opens successfully.
Scenario:
- Copy _common_data\bowtie\index\e_coli.sam into "моя работа" folder
- Open this file in UGENE -> "Open Sam file" dialog appears
- Click "Import" button
Expected state: File is opened
Actual state: Error message about not being able to create sorted file:
'Loading documents' task failed: Subtask {Opening view for document: e_coli.sam} is failed: Subtask {Adding document to project: e_coli.sam} is failed: Subtask {BAM/SAM file import: e_coli.sam} is failed: Subtask {Prepare assembly file to import} is failed: Can't build the index: D:/моя работа2/e_coli.sam.bam_sorted.bamDocument was removed
